Chapter Seventeen

“Damn it!” Julien had sent Shane five texts without getting any response. When he dialed Shane’s phone, no one answered. Where is he? I told him to stay home. His tracker app didn’t work, which meant Shane had turned off his cell. Dario kissed Keme on his forehead. The music roared in his ears, making it impossible for him to think clearly. Was Shane upset with him?

“Shane’s not answering my text messages and his phone isn’t on. Do you know anything about this, Keme?”

“No. I haven’t heard from Shane all day. The last time I heard from him is when…”

“Was when?” Dario asked.

“Uhmm, when he tried to get you to pay attention to him and it backfired.”

“He told you about what I did to him?” Julien looked very serious.

“Yeah, he did. But he was more upset about you not liking him. He wasn’t angry about the spanking.” Keme covered his mouth.

“I see.”

“Maybe he’s upset you left him home,” Dario said. “I mean you treat him like he’s your damn son.”

Julien slammed down his ice water, splashing some on the table.

“Maybe he went out for a walk or his phone died,” Keme said.

“Dario, you’re in charge here tonight. I need to leave to see what’s going on with Shane.”

“What if he’s sleeping? He does sleep a lot,” Dario said.

Julien stood up walked to the front where his limo was parked.
